rConfig - V8 Prp Update Process
Update Process Overview
Section titled “Update Process Overview”Our goal is to develop frequent updates to rConfig v8. Additional features, improvements and hotfixes will all be developed, tested and released in a standard development cycle, and we have made our update process as easy as possible. The update system is now integrated directly into the System Settings interface, making it more accessible and user-friendly.
How to Identify Available Updates
Section titled “How to Identify Available Updates”From time to time, as you log in to the main dashboard, you will notice a green notification badge. This is the indicator to say an update is ready for you - per the image below.

How to Access System Updates
Section titled “How to Access System Updates”To check for and manage updates:
- Navigate to Settings from the main sidebar
- Under System Settings, click on Update
- The System Updates interface will display your current system status

Understanding the Update Interface
Section titled “Understanding the Update Interface”The new System Updates interface provides three main tabs:
- Check Updates: Shows current system status and available updates
- Instructions: Step-by-step update guidance
- Release Notes: Details about new features and fixes
System Status Information
Section titled “System Status Information”The interface displays:
- Installed Version: Your current rConfig version (e.g., 8.0.0)
- System Status: Whether your system is up to date
- Check Again button: Manually refresh update availability
When your system shows “System is up to date” with a green checkmark, you’re running the latest version of rConfig.
Performing the Update
Section titled “Performing the Update”When updates are available:
- Click Check Updates to see available versions
- Review the Release Notes tab for changes and improvements
- Follow the step-by-step instructions in the Instructions tab
- Execute the provided commands for your operating system
Navigation and Access
Section titled “Navigation and Access”The update functionality is now located under: Settings → System Settings → Update
This centralized location makes it easier to manage all system-related tasks from one interface, alongside other system management functions like:
- System configuration
- System Optimization
- Backup Settings
- Product Key management
- Upgrade options
